I qualified in 2008 with a Foundation Degree in Person-Centred Counselling. During my training I had placements at a local secondary school and with a hospice; since qualifying I have worked in a GP surgery and a low-cost counselling service as well as running my own private practice.
Until 2017 I worked as the Counselling Coordinator at Sussex Community Counselling managing a team of dedicated voluntary counsellors, including counselling students on placement, providing low-cost counselling across East Sussex.
I hold a Diploma in the Art & Craft of Individual and Group Supervision of Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Allied Professionals, awarded by Cascade Associates.
In common with all counsellors, I attend regular supervision sessions: this is a form of quality control that ensures I am working to the highest ethical and professional standards. I am fully insured, and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP); I abide by their ethical framework.
